26-31 record against Peay

UTM is going on to play Austin Peay in their second round of the OVC tournament in Nashville this Saturday at noon. UTM has faced Austin Peay twice already and both times came up short. The Skyhawks first attempt at battle with Peay was January 13th. Austin Peay came out with a 13 point victory over UTM. Julie Young led the Skyhawks attempt with 18 points, Tiffany Brundige and Danielle Page both scored 13 points each, and the fourth leading scorer for UTM was Amy Watson with 12 points. The overall score was 85-71. The Skyhawks again went head to head with Austin Peay January 30th. Again we were defeated, but this time by 23 points. Leading UTM were Amy Watson with 14 points and Julie Young with 12. The overall scores for the game were 81-58. Leading Austin Peay's frontlines were Gerlonda Hardin, Brooke Armistead, Ashley Haynes, and Kera Bergeron. Hardin scored 26 of the 85 points by Austin Peay on the 13th, Armistead followed close behind with 17 points.

Haynes was the lead scorer in the second game on Jan. 30th with 16 points and one point behind her was Bergeron with 16. In UTM's history, we have defeated Austin Peay 26 times, although we have lost 31 times. Saturday's game is going to be an unpredictable one. The Skyhawks only lost their first game against Peay by thirteen points, so there is a good chance of us coming out victoriously. So far this season the Skyhawks are 9-7 in the OVC and 13-15 overall.
